AHHHHH i got in as well! yeah, no letter yet, but a congratulations/welcome/join our forum e-mail was just received. sweeeeet :)

Got ACCEPTED!!!!!!!

accepted. :)

ACCEPTED!! FINALLY I CAN POST "ACCEPTED!" The wait was so difficult!!!

Have only the acceptance e-mails been sent out?!

it wasn't so much an email that was intended to let you know you got in....it was more saying "now that you've gotten in, come check out our forum!"

I think they sent out all everything in the mail, and some people just happened to get the email before they got the letter.

That probably means I didn't get in...oh well.

i need you to be optimistic, mp153! i've only heard from one out of eight schools to which i've applied. i will not believe that a lack of encouraging e-mail necessarily means rejection!

Aw, Dessin (and everybody else) Congratulations! :D

awww saaamie!!! maybe you'll get the email/letter today! don't give up hope! AND there is still middlebury!! good luck saaamie!

no worries, they leave the internationals til the end at Mac....last year it looks like internationals found out by email on the 30th :S

I guess that makes sense, in a way. I don't have to like it though.

haha, I wish it would come today, Dessin. But no mail on saturdays in Sweden. Right now it's one of the things i miss the most from when I lived in Michigan :P and btw, what's your top choice? :)

I'm still waiting :(

I'm rejected.... I have to say I'm kind of surprised. Oh well, I honestly don't think I would have gone anyway. Too cold. :)

I'm kind of upset though... this is my first rejection. This is the third school I've heard from, and my first two were from safety schools (in at both), so I'm feeling a little bit insecure right now. Gah.

C'est la vie.

Congrats on your safety schools, KaylaIs! I've heard from one school (safety) so far and was accepted. It's at least comforting to know you're definitely going somewhere :)

My kid got an acceptance packet in today's mail.
Seems to be the same "Yes, Macalester" everybody gets but there is no financial aid info enclosed. Dunno if that means they aren't offering it, or if it comes separately.

A few stats: 700 CR, 790 M, 650 W. 3.38 UW in a challenging IB diploma program, apparently with little grade inflation. No "hooks", unless rural upbringing counts. No boatload of ECs, and not President or Captain of anything, but shows strong consistent interest and leadership in a couple of areas. Unusual mix of math and artistic talent may have interested somebody, but who knows? Some of the competition looked very very strong. I didn't know much about Mac before this year, but by now I'm impressed.

Unless some financial aid is offered, however, Mac probably won't be our choice. It's likely going to come down to one other private LAC (which offered a merit scholarship) or a public honors college.

Good luck, everybody! To those who've been accepted, it's an honor. To those who were not, you should take some consolation in the number and strength of the applications. We got a rejection too from the ED choice, which was painful, but other opportunities have opened up.

I don't think anyone has received their FA packages? But i could be wrong.
Congrats to your son!

I was accepted a few weeks ago, and the financial aid package came two weeks later. They're completely separate, so I'm sure that you'll get one soon :)

I got waitlist! I'm actually really surprised because my stats weren't completely up to Mac's par and my Why Mac essay needed a lot of work. I still have to decided whether to stay on the waitlist, which I'll probably know by next week.

Accepted
ACT: 31
SAT II: Math II 770, Chem 660
GPA - 3.75
A lot of ECs, good recs.
Excited!!! Waiting for FA to make decision.
