do we get our decisions friday or do they start sending them out on friday

that’s a good question 0000001. you should call and ask. ive emailed them and all they tell me is that decisions will be mailed out at some point this week.

hey guys…i wan’t to ask a question…please answer because i’ve been having anxiety attacks because of this…i’ve only been contacted by Wake Forest when they confirm that they have received my application and for the online interview offer, and that was in January…have anyone been receiving any newsletter or contacted by wake regarding any other matters than the ones i said earlier??? please help me :(

To make you feel better, that’s about all of the communication my daughter has had too. She received some note saying that they had received everything and then an email about the online interview. That’s it!

^^^ Yep, same for us.

There may have been like a fin aid brochure or something else but I didn’t notice really. Don’t worry about it. How much junk mail you got from them really shouldn’t have you fretting over whether or not they will accept you or not.

i got some financial aid paper telling me that mine was incomplete.

^Not to give you any false hope, but in the last two admissions cycles, individuals who were told that their financial aid paper was incomplete this late later got an acceptance letter. They are right now working on accepted student’s financial aid, so I would assume that if you got a letter asking for more information this close to decision, you probably are accepted.

Hi, Im a new member - applied RD to Wake Forest class of 2014. WFU_Student2013, I got a brochure that informed me that my financial aid was incomplete but I received it in the beginning of Feb. Was this also around the time that later accepted students also received these brochures?

I cant remember if i got a brochure a few months ago about incomplete financial aid info. But couldn’t someone still get into Wake Forest even if they never received something about incomplete financial aid if they had actually made sure all of their financial aid information was on time early?

I don’t think we received any financial aid paper/brochure saying it was incomplete. My daughter sent in the FAFSA and CCS profile on time, but did not send in the completed tax forms aas they were not finished yet. They were to be sent by March 1st. I called the school and was told by financial aid to send the tax forms in as soon as possible/completed. We did receive a reminder email from college board to send in the forms. We just received our tax report back today from the tax accountant and will have to submit this to the IDOC, through college board. I believe the financial aid packets are to be sent out the beginning of April for those submitted on time, later for those not.

I don’t know of any other schools that require the tax forms/w2s to be sent up front, before a financial award letter will be sent. I do know of some that eventually require these, say by May 1st, or if you actually enroll, and before the award is actually disbursed. March 1st is early to require these. I know that some tax forms, including 1099s, are not required to be sent out until Feb 15th. It doesn’t give much time then to get the paper work together, and to have the tax report prepared. I do see that by this method the financial aid awarded would be more accurate than based on estimations from only the earlier FAFSA/CCS profile, and how this would save corrections having to be made to the award package.

Any thoughts on the process used by Wake Forest? Was it a problem for you?

We submitted FAFSA and Profile on time and were reminded to send tax forms and W-2. Since we file an extension, I contacted Financial Aid at Wake and asked if I should send W-2 and extension now. While they were very nice, they were perfectly clear that any need based aid would not be awarded until the completed tax return was in.

wait so does anyone know when decisions will get to us?

most likely next week. and financial aid process isn’t bad if you do everything on time.

Does anyone know how big of a role financial aid plays in the admissions process? Would not needing aid increase the chances of being accepted at Wake?

sent an email last night to Wake Forest…they replied early this morning saying decisions were already mailed meaning that decisions were probably sent out before today…maybe yesterday

My daughter’s acceptance letter came in the mail today!!! We live near Raleigh, NC. The letter said that financial aid information would be mailed mid-April.

Good luck to you all.

^^ Congratulations to your daughter! Was the letter sent US Priority, regular mail, regular size or oversize?? Just anxiously awaiting as we’re on the West Coast!

Why is no one posting that they received their decision letter especially if they live in NC? If this person really got their letter and they live in Raleigh, shouldn’t other applicants that live in NC get their letters today too?

just kill me. i can’t wait any longer!
