My friend applied RD but like a month and a half ago she got a letter saying because of her superior standing or something of the sort she was accepted EA. Shes smart but nothing exceptional i wouldnt say. ACT 31, gpa 3.9 UW captain of a sport and in NHS. has anyone else heard of that?

my son had the same thing happen - he applied RD but submitted it in November to qualify for merit scholarships. Received a letter of acceptance with the EA round stating that although he was an RD applicant they were accepting him early because of his outstanding academics, etc. I'm sure this is Villanova's version of 'early writes'.
