The cookie’s only half eaten, because we ran out of milk! But H is on his way home with some now. Looking forward to reading the zines when S has finished reading them!

Cookie made me very happy!

Any other colleges send stuff like this?

S has narrowed down his college choices to three, and would like to re-visit each one. We’re going to try to swing this. (One college – not Bennington, alas! – has offered to fly him there at their expense, which is nice, and we can get to the other two colleges by train, so it shouldn’t be too difficult.)

So, is anyone going back to Bennington for one more visit before deciding?

Awkwardsquirrel, [this thread](http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-admissions/124384-best-worst-admission-rejection-letters.html?highlight=best%2Fworst) has some interesting stories about cool things that colleges send. One of the other colleges that accepted S sent him a t-shirt. It wasn’t a surprise, because they emailed him first asking his size. But it’s a very nice shirt!

My S will visit and see classes at 3 or 4 colleges during his Spring break. Jealous of the airfare! We will be making this a family vacation. I guess your son will travel alone? Love to know what college offers that. Quite an honor for your son! Please post what happens.

I am writing this on a bus headed to the city from a whirlwind visit today.

I must say, after visiting, I am completely sold on Bennington. (Although I was before- Now I just have to convince my parents.)

The campus is GORGEOUS. I was walking around, meeting people, and automatically felt like i belonged. I sat in on a global political communications class, where students were actively involved and obviously passionate. I can’t imagine enrolling anywhere else now.

Seeing as most posters are parents, I have a question: What would you say to a parent to convince them of Bennington’s worth? I got a hefty financial aid package, so cost is not a problem at this point. Only everything Bennington is. (Unfortunately my parents were unable to go on the visit with me, as they are halfway across the country.)

Gapper, tell your parents what you told us in your post! And congratulations – you started this thread, and I was wondering if you had heard and what the word was!

Mommybird, I’m jealous that your son has Spring break to travel! My son’s break ends tomorrow. The other problem is that the three colleges are in completely different directions – one north, one south, and one west of us – so we can’t really combine the trips. S will probably visit on three successive Mondays. (He is allowed to take off three days for college visits this semester, so at least the absences will be excused.)

The college that offered to fly him out is Earlham. He will be doing that trip on his own. (I’m a bit nervous about that, as he has never flown by himself, but I guess I should get used to it!) I’ll be doing the other two trips with him, because I have not seen those colleges – my husband took him the first time around. So, I will finally get to see Bennington!
