<p>Who can figure out these crazy acceptances/rejections? Her #1 choice was UCLA, now going to MD. She would haave been 30 miles from home, now 3000! :(</p>
<p>The nice thing about Maryland is its close proximity to D.C. (10 minute drive), Baltimore (30 minutes), Philly (2 hours), Richmond (1.5 hours), and NY (4 hours). You really can’t beat the location. I hope she enjoys it.</p>
<p>jnrsmom-My S could have gone to MD - 30 minutes from home (in-state and prob merit $) but instead he is going to Vandy - MUCH further away and $50k+! Funny how life works!</p>

But, I think I’m okay with it. I’ve already been accepted to two other Fine Southern Institutions, so I’m not sure if I’ll take a spot on the list.</p>
<p>^good for you. I’m thinking I’ll find out today if I got in, when I get home from school in like half an hour. I’m so freaking nervous. UGH. After being rejected from Duke, I’m reticent to put any hope in acceptances from any of my other schools.</p>
