Does anyone know if we will find out before April 15th??? That is the latest school on my list and I am going to go CRAZY waiting!!! And what are you going to do if you have to choose between schools by May 1st??? They don’t give us much time!

Does Anyone know if we will find out before????????? PLEASE

I know how u feel, because i think i already gone crazy waiting for it. And i apply in november.

I know it is the longest wait!!! and I am in Florida and I graduate in May, so this is definitly getting really late in the year for me! I try not to think about it, but clearly as I am on here everyday, do think about it!!!

yea me 2, but i thnk i have a bit of good news. BC call me school asking for my mid-year report, so maybe that was because they going to make a decision soon.

I'm sure they'll let us know before then..at least I hope so! I'm planning on going and visiting schools that weekend, so it would be nice to know what I have to choose from!

I wish you kids all the best. My D got accepted EA but their preliminary financial aid award offered her zilch, nada, "0". I sent them our 2006 tax stuff but I don't expect anything to change. So, not trying to burst your bubble, but we've had plenty of time to let this info. sink in. You will have about 2 weeks. Just remember, seems like BC is very stingy with financial aid (for us middle income families, that is.) Don't know yet if we will send her at cost of approx. $50K/yr.

what were ur daughter stats like to get into BC?

Same situation here, mominchicago. BC is my top choice and I was ecstatic to get it. I wanted to send in my deposit right away, but my parents made us wait to get the finaid letter. We actually went and got it on Admitted Eagles Day, that significantly put a damper on the day. Doesn't quite seem fair how screwed the middle class gets by the finaid office.

To answer the topic, BC will not let u know april 15, they will probably let u no around 5th or something. EA date was dec 25th, i got my letter dec 18.

sorry xtopher for not getting to your question sooner. My D's stats:

3.8 GPA W/4.0
690 Math, 690 CR (710 Writing)
Private prep school
Hispanic
Tons of EC's (many leadership roles)
Great teacher rec's
Great essay if I do say so myself
Illinois State Scholar
NHS
4's on two AP exams (taking all honors and 3 AP classes in senior year)

She was guaranteed 4 years of housing (was in top 50% of applicant pool)

We pretty much had the same thing happen to us. Even if D gets a small scholarship from an outside source it is still a hefty price. If only they could meet us even just a part of the way we could try and make it happen.

With time that we have had to let it sink in other schools on the list do not look as bad and are offering quite a bit. So I doubt that we will attend.

Have either of you guys looked into Providence College? BC didn't give me any money, but they are alot more generous. I got into both EA and i got nothing from BC but Providence gave me 21,000/yr in merit money and I havent even heard about aid yet. Honestly I don't really care if i get nothing cuz tuitions only like 26. After receiving the award I visited and honestly I loved it there more than any college i visited...at any point in my college search. I dunno if you guys who were complaining about aid applied to PC, but if you did I'd at least entertain the idea. I guess I'm sacrificing a bit of prestige for happiness and tuition money that I really don't have to begin with. Just a few thoughts....

serrapadre07:

No, we didn't look at PC. My husband and I had a pretty hard time letting her even consider BC due to it's distance. But, we parents have to realize that we lived (and continue to live) our lives and have to let our kids live theirs as they wish. My D has other choices but BC is very high on her list. She applied to 8 schools, has heard from 5 and been accepted at all. Still waiting on 3 more in April.

last time i checked wasnt the notification date March 25th?

"Following receipt of application materials, the admission office will notify candidates whether their application is complete. Candidates will be notified of action taken on their applications no later than April 15. Decisions will not be communicated to applicants via telephone, facsimile, e-mail, or in person prior to April 15."

that's right off their website... not sure whether that means you could be contacted by mail before april 15? or you will only be told your decision ON APRIL 15TH, not before or after...?

"Candidates will be notified of action taken on their applications no later than April 15."

You answered your own question with your quote.

The only reason you would need to call, fax, whatever for your decision is if you didn't get it by April 15th.

Why are they the latest school??? All of the others that I applied to are April 1st at the latest!! I am going crazy.....

They also said that EA kids would be notified December 25th and I think most heard well before that date. I think they say April 15th because everyone will be notified BY that date (but probably sooner). They won't respond to phone calls, faxes, emails, etc. before that date.

well, from browsing last year's RD decision thread, many people received decisions as early as march 20th (plus or minus a week... or two)

i don't think they're going to be sending out decisions as late as april 15, that's just so they have enough leeway, lol
