Accepted!

I live in southern Arizona. Got the letter yesterday, no fin. aid yet.

It seems as if only acceptances were sent in the first batch...

Or maybe the rejectees don't feel like posting

Yay I just got my acceptance letter in the mail today. I live in CT, so I guess my mailman is a little slower than average.
Also I applied for engineering for those who were wondering about whether engineering letters were sent.

A lot of people still waiting on acceptances here?

I am still waiting. Does anyone know if they send both rejections and acceptances or acceptances only? And does it mean that we are unlikely to get scholarships if we are not accepted by now?

I am still waiting too

I got my acceptance letter today! For those who are still waiting, don't worry! You'll hear back soon.

Just got my letter today :). Does anybody know why some people are hearing early? I have a feeling it's not used to accept the top students early. It might really be random. Maybe it's a lot of legacies that hear first?

I'm not a legacy.

I'm a legacy and I haven't heard so I squash that rumor right now. Don't get worked up guys!

yea im a legacy too from upstate ny and i havent gotten anything...but my friend from my school got his today. hopefully itll come this week!

Have no idea if acceptances are sent out in 'waves' or not... (Some schools do that.)

D was notified of her acceptance last week (Tuesday 3/4) by FedEx. (She's a finalist for the Renaissance Scholarship.)

But her acceptance packet only just got here today.

I got my acceptance packet today. I'm engineering and I live in Oregon.

no acceptance yet...im in california

I was talking to UR Admissions and he told me that the first wave has gone out and Yes, they do send them in waves.

How close together are the waves?

My S. is still waiting, but someone else in his high school heard already yesterday....this is exremely nerve wracking. He didn't get in to his ED school and is really interested in Rochester, so it's pretty stressful....

STILL cruel and unusual punishment in our house where one twin heard in first wave and second twin still waiting to hear....

wow, soproud, that is mean....this is the only school that I've encountered that does it this way...the thing that makes no sense and makes you so nervous is that kids in the same high school (and HOUSEHOLD, in your case!) don't hear at the same time, so you're left wondering....why? is it completely random? did they take the strongest candidates first? I know kids don't always post rejections on this site, but NO ONE has posted a rejection, so that begs the next question: do they send BOTH out together? I am sure the same speculation is going on at your home right now, so this is to let you know you're not alone....do both kids want to go to Rochester?
