I was joking about the computer glitch, but this is all just not reflecting well on my much loved alma mater :)

Well, either it was a computer glitch or a flood of applications. Either way they should have emailed us about the situation.

Accepted today (3/21) in the Buffalo, NY area! My stats:

GPA: 3.58 UW
Class Rank: 50/328
SAT: 1410/2050
ACT: 33
White male... no help there :p
Mostly AP's/Honors, 3 on the AP Euro and 4's on AP Chemistry and English- taking AP Physics and AP Calc this year.
EC's: Theater, musicals, music, web design, president of German club... decent but nothing compared to some of the mindblowing EC's I see on here.
Pretty good essays, presumably good referrals, good volunteer.
Catches: Research projects, college lab volunteer, starting an online freelance programming business, incredible sexiness.
Noncatches: Suspended for using fireworks in a school project, mediocre GPA.

It sounds like the creme of the crop were admitted in the first wave and they're moving down to us mere mortals now. Anyone else hear anything today?

could this be the beginning of the second wave :)

tomsthename did you get any fin. aid info? congratz on your acceptance

I hope it is!

My friend better get her letter during this wave!!

congrats tomsthename, this is the first post of an acceptance in about 2 weeks....we are in PA and mail just came, nothing yet.....and again, others from our HS knew 2 weeks ago...I agree with prior posts, changing the date on the website without even sending an email does not reflect well on the school, I mean, this isn't a large university with 30,000 applicants...I am dissappointed in them....also, I agree with others that when I called the admissions office, they were of no help whatsoever, which is VERY odd, most other schools have been very helpful and straightforward with information...does anyone know how many applicants they had this year?

My dd's acceptance arrived today, and we're located within 5 miles of Univ of Rochester.

I don't think there is any relationship between students' stats and when notices are mailed.

SAT's = 800, 800 & 780/math
SAT II's = 780/chem, 780/us history & 800/mathii
5 AP's with scores of 5
top 5%
national merit
NCTE writing award winner
non-minority

PS - her info at the website has not changed, and not does indicate that she's been accepted

Assuming the second wave was sent out on Wednesday..it took 2 days to reach Buffalo (2 hours west of Rochester, right?).

By that math, it means mine's going to take 39 days to get here. I wouldn't be surprised if is going to take that long... :-

^^LOL Spartan!

As I said earlier, I checked the USPS website, and they said 2 days to here from Rochester. I picked up the mail today: nothing for S. Could either of you who have heard do us the favor of checking the postmark?

well i didnt get mine today and im in rochester

I got mine today, and I got in. Guess the second wave came out.

postmark = March 20th from zip code 14618

So these were mailed thursday not wednesday?

Probably Wednesday (3/19) afternoon and it got picked up and processed 3/20.

Congrats to all! My stress level has descended to manageable levels even though we haven't heard, because today my S was accepted to a school which has been in his top 2 all along, and which is a great fit for him. From here on, almost anything is gravy.

Thanks, mtpaper, for the postmark date.

Nothing yet for me :(

Maybe tomorrow.

Sending positive thoughts your way, Spartan.

Thanks, I'm definitely going to need them.

i got my acceptance today in new jersey im so excited !
