RD notification

how/when does georgetown notify rd applicants of their decisions? thanks

April 1st.

And do you really see them sending you an email? I mean, I love Georgetown, but they haven't yet learned what this crazy "internet" thing is yet.

Ah. Jack Bauer/24 fan. They should accept you immediately.

In other news, Georgetown notifies their applicants via US Mail. Decisions are usually sent out a week prior, so the time you receive it varies.

all college applications should have a jack bauer question to instantly reject the non-24 fans.

haha I agree with Tlaktan, If you like 24 thats good enough for me and definetly qualifies for acceptance ;) 24 is awesome!

Obviously, I totally agree. My name on CC should be basis for acceptance into Georgetown. =) Bob you're right, non-fans should not be allowed to set foot on a college campus as they will not be aware of the complicated inter-workings of our government. And it's just not sane to not watch 24. Does that mean we're all in? ;)

Yeah for 24! Gtown better accept you because that show is obviously the best show ever!

Last year someone figured out another way to find out if you were accepted. There was a website to sign up for a GAAP program, and if you could log in and sign up that meant you were accepted. There was something strange about it though, like your SSN was your password or something, so not everyone could figure it out. So if anyone can figure that out you'll be able to figure out your result earlier.

does anybody know?

Does "April 1" mean that they mail decisions on that date, or they mail them sooner with the inention of them arriving on that date?

it means they like to play head games with their vagueness... keep you guessing

If G'Town says they will let us know by April 1st, it will probably really be in the last week of March. They released admission decisions for EA 3-7 days early (depending on how close to DC you are and how fast your mailman can drive).

as far as the login thing online goes, i remember that, but unfortunately all i remember are the same facts - if you can login at a certain point in time with _____ and some form of your SS # to the GAAP open house (there's a link on undergraduate admissions page) then you were admitted, otherwise, you don't really know.
for the record, attempting to now just to see if you're accepted is silly, they probably haven't entered your stats in yet and if you dont get in, since there is nothing official, you will drive yourself crazy until you get the envelope.

could ______ be your georgetown ID?

quite possibly. i don't remember, and it's always a possibility that georgetown admission officers got smart and changed the system.
though, considering that they haven't changed their system enough to allow people to apply online, i doubt it.

It's been a few years but I remember my son's letter being dated March 23rd and he got it on the 25th or so. It was the first one he got from all the "April 1st" notification schools.

Good luck to you all!

DD's GC was told letters will go in the mail the 23rd

I got into Georgetown already!!

how?! are you an NHS applicant?

for those of you who have been accepted already including ea applicants, what did your username and password consist of? for instance was it your ssn and gu id or the other way around or something of that sort. i'd like to try and log on to the gaap thing.
