RD Oberlin College Class of 2017

Hey everyone!
I think we shall talk about oberlin and decisions when they are released :)

To start off, I'm an international student from asia but has been living in the states for quite a long time :)

super nervous right now!!!!!!

Hi! I’m a girl from the Cleveland area
I’m nervous, too! I’m also not exactly sure where Oberlin stands in my list of colleges, but we’ll see if I get accepted to figure that out :P

finally someone replied me
sry, i kinda stalked you a little bit :stuck_out_tongue:
i chanced you on your chance me thread, and i think your stats are pretty good
idk where oberlin stands in my list yet either but we’ll see.
we’ve applied to three same colleges so we might be future classmates haha :D

I’m from Colorado! Oberlin is near the top of my list, along with Colorado College, Kenyon, Carleton, and Knox… so I’m just going to have to wait and see where I get accepted and go from there. Good luck to everyone! :)

Good luck to everybody! Can’t wait until decisions are sent out. I also have no idea where Oberlin stands on my list of choices, but I guess I have to wait and see until decision are sent out.

S received acceptance letter today. He “kind” of expected it as during the MVP’s visit, in a way, it was pretty obvious… At the MVP event, he has established a bond with the people he met there. Also, the admission staff (especially the two gentlemen that interviewed him) are very nice, warm and thoughtful. The study environment - Great!. But the town is too rural for him. He has narrowed his college’s choice to Oberlin and Colby.

do MVP students get a letter early? I really wish I had known about the MVP program, but alas, here I am now a couple of weeks before decisions.

africastle: S really like the friends he met at the MVP program. The atmosphere there really made him felt like home. There was a special bond among them. S did not know about other “MVP students get a letter early” yet. He will find out when he gets the chance. Hope you will receive the acceptance letter soon.

@frisesbichon are you international?
Hey guys I was going through last year thread and I found out that Oberlin sent decisions to internationals by 20 and US citizens by 26 march. Best of luck

Congrats frisesbichon on the acceptance. Oberlin may be smaller than Waterville, but it’s a lot closer to Cleveland than Colby is to any large cities. Never heard of the MVP visit, how did he get invited?

strawberry001 - Haha, no problem! I hope to see you at some visit, then! :D

When are decisions?! I’m soooooo nervous about Oberlin. >.<

@Vivaciousakrish - According to this ([Dates and Deadlines - Oberlin College](http://new.oberlin.edu/arts-and-sciences/admissions/international-students/dates-and-deadlines.dot)) April 1

It’s always earlier than April 1. I would guess they’ll be mailed out the 20th or 21st.

I heard that Oberlin doesn’t release the decisions online. Is it also true to international students? It would take around 1 week to reach the mail (if sent through FedEx or DHL) to the place where I live. Another reason to freak out even more. :/

Lol no FedEx takes 3 days MAX. Priority mail = 5-7 days I guess.

Intl students do get an email.

@wintertree12 - /o\ That’s good! It’s always good to get news early. Unless it’s bad news…I’ll put that off until later, then.

Hi everyone!! When does Oberlin release decisions? :)

^ read the thread

I did read the thread…I was just wondering if there was a definite date.
