RD Oberlin College Class of 2017

Na, I don’t think we’ll know the definite date until people start getting acceptances. Unless you want to call the Admissions office; they might let you know.

^ If anyone ends up calling the admissions office, post the date here!

alisiddiqui94 - not international. It came in a big white envelope. Inside is a brown folder with the words - “Congratulations Class of 2017” over it. In the brown folder are the acceptance letter and others. S really like it but we have to consider due to $$$$.

thanks for the update frisesbichon

So there ARE early writes.

Lol no her son didn’t receive an early write. It was an ACCEPTANCE letter/package that was sent out early.

Different things.

I thought early writes were early acceptance letters…

Of course, they do indicate that the student will be accepted, but certainly colleges don’t send out early writes with the complete acceptance package.

But that was an acceptance letter.

Last year they were mailed on the 23rd. They can take close to a week to arrive…

The admissions office aims to have all students receive their letters by April 1st. I don’t yet know the date of letter send-off, but as soon as I do, I’ll hop on here and let you all know.

International students receive letters first via email and also by mail, recognizing that a letter may take longer but that you may want a hard copy as well. Domestic students receive their letters by paper mail only, and depending on where you live, you will receive your letter anywhere between a day and a week from the letter send-off date.

(Carry on with your nervous waiting. I’ll return here when I know more!)

^^ In the case of a US student abroad (attending school overseas), is it possible to send an email? We have a US mailing address but our student doesn’t live there at the moment - will she be flagged to receive an email or can she request it?

@KSAMom: Email the admissions office and make sure they know your situation.

If this year is like the past couple years, decisions were mailed today?

any idea if they were sent out???

Any more news anybody?

Um, international emails will be sent out on March 27. That’s all I know.

@Vivaciousakrish Thanks!

We received an e-mail on Friday stating that my daughter was accepted also saying that this notifications was sent early to a small amount of exceptional students, with invitation to visit Oberlin in April (two weekends to choose from) with all expenses paid.
They also said that acceptance letter shall arrive ‘in a few days’ .
Did not say anything about FA/scholarship…

I did not receive an e-mail with a decision yet. Did anyone else get an acceptance e-mail?

@StaticRoar: It’s going to be sent via snail mail.

I really hope it gets sent out tomorrow… I need to plan my college visits.
