<p>Yeah, I’d imagine this gives the admissions offices at these schools more time to deal with the apps. As for Emory, I have no idea if the apps. went up this semester, but I imagine that it could not have gone up that much if at all. However, it sucks for later years, because apparently there is a supposed to be a more aggressive marketing effort and enrollment management, so it’s possible that Emory will do really well next year if it does not this year.</p>
<p>What about Oxford ? I have been looking but they haven’t said anything about an extension. If anyone is applying for both (like me), they’ll have to send Emory’s and Oxford’s application together because of the CommonApp system. So does it mean applicants for both Oxford and Emory won’t benefit from this extension ? 
I already emailed Oxford but still haven’t got any reply even though the deadline is near :/</p>

<p>Due to unprecedented snow and ice in Atlanta, Emory University temporarily closed for much of the week of January 10, 2011. We realize this winter weather has affected most of the nation, leading to school closings, power outages, and issues with the processing of electronic documents. </p>
