I used College Confidential as a resource while I was researching college options. Some of it was very helpful; however, I I often found unsatisfactory profiles of students’ decisions. For future lurkers I am happy to post my profile and the decision I received from UGA.

- wasn’t able to take any AP classes the year after I moved because of new school rules
Thoughts on why I did not get accepted:
My GPA is a little below UGA’s average, which I believe is close to a 3.9 or 4.0. My ACT scores are not good, neither are my SAT scores, which are a little better. However, my SAT scores are lopsided towards Critical Reading and UGA looks at Critical Reading and Math the most, but they also look at writing. My Math and Writing scores are low. My AP classes look a little bit fluffy. I was in gifted/honors everything in 9th grade but I dropped advanced math and science when I moved. A decision I regret. My ECs are weak. I don’t have any leadership stuff or any activities out of the norm. I also live in a high income neighborhood with many other kids already accepted into UGA. I’m also just a typical white male.
Overall I’m surprised I even got wait-listed and not completely denied; however, I’m still very disappointed that I didn’t get in. The wait-list seems like a formality, and I’m probably not going to get off it, considering my dull profile. I plan to go to Georgia Southern and major in Computer Science. I don’t know if I’m going to try to transfer to GTech. I don’t think I’m smart enough. Any advice on that would be appreciated!
