RD Round - My chances?

Hey Guyz,

I am a senior IB Diploma student..wanna know my chances for RD.

School: competitive public (~400 in gr.12) in BC, Canada
Gender: Female
Ethnicity: Chinese, Canadian Citizenship

SAT I: Highest all: 2190, Highest combined: 2250
SAT IIs: Pending

Courses: Most Rigorous (5Higher levels, 2 Standard Levels, 1 TOK, = Full load IB courses)

Recs: one teacher checked almost all in top few in my career and the rest in top 2/3% and the other teacher i think in top 2/3 or top 10. I dunno what's considered good but she MADE me read it and asked me what i wanted..i was just like "it's fine" LOL, i didn't know what to say ...
Counselor Recs: Top 10% in everything...gar. so mad.

Grades: i think my GPA is ~3.5-3.8 (this term) - 7 A's, 1 B this yr. IB Predicted: 36-38..dunno yet?

Awards: Gr8/9 Top academic (in my old hs) Gr 9/10 Top math, Top English, Top Science (separate awards), random music awards, community service award for 550 hours (in gr.11), science awards (provincial level), Canadian morehead semifinalist (interview tmw), math awards in earlier grades, published in newspaper and (inter)nationally recognized science journal, other random stuff i can't remember....i'll add when i have time..

ECS: some random stuff..newspaper v.EIC, community council vPrez, tutor (3 hrs/wk), scientific research w/ profs, violin, won awards in music, community service. etc....=D

well... it's hard enough to predict admisions to any top school.

Honestly though, if I had to bet, I'd seriously bet against just because of the fact that princeton RD accepts only around 7-8%.

But hey, you could be one of those 7-8%, you never know

ya! lol, i dream to be one of the 7-8% accepted. snaps out of it and into real land --> oh, no, just bombed my phys test =D

You started this same thread in EVERY SINGLE IVY LEAGUE FORUM. Nobody respond to this. If you want your chances, you to the FORUM DESIGNATED FOR IT.

desertman/lynda/kiria: bec u are/is (god, this is hard on the grammar =D) the same person, plz just look at my response to ur other post in all my threads. dun hate me, u already got into ED, no need for competition, even though we are from the same school =)

I find your problems fascinating. Perhaps you should write a book about them.

I got a title for it:

"Who cares about my fvking life" by the dumb shlt

Ali-

Stop lying and insulting. I do not know you. I do not go to your school. I like in a DIFFERENT COUNTRY. I am not in anywhere ED. If you continue to misrepresent me, i will report you.

i'm sorry if i offended u, lynda/kiria/desertman (whoever's who)...=)

Jeezz can you like, not end every sentence you write with a smily face?

ali_liu:

"You" is always followed by "are." How is this hard on your grammar?

Regarding your stats, THE PEOPLE ON THIS BOARD ARE NOT IVY LEAGUE ADMISSIONS OFFICERS. We're students/applicants, just like you. How should we know whether your scores will get you admitted or not? Do we look like we hold part-time jobs in the admissions offices where they vote on applications?

Posting your stats once or twice to get a sense of how you can improve is fine. However, it's extremely pointless to go around CONTINUALLY doing so--this just makes it seem as if you're fishing for compliments. If you're looking for someone to tell you, "Wow, ali_liu, those are the best stats ever!" then you're going to be disappointed, because they're not. If you're looking for someone to tell you that you're a sure admit, then you're also going to be disappointed. People with higher scores than you have been rejected, and people with lower scores than you have been admitted. All that we can tell you is that you have a chance of being admitted, just like any other person who applies to an Ivy League university.

My biggest advice to you: Just chill before you burst a blood vessel or something.

So why is everyone going so agro? Must be ED Decisions syndrome.

And OP, take a look at the Columbia board. Of all the stats and chances and whatever, nobody could've predicted what was comming. So honestly- there's no point asking and unless someone here is an admissions person they wouldn't know what to say.

every acceptance had its reasons.. and in columbia's ED case.. stats seem to have played a rather minor role. like kjoodles said.. no one could have predicted the turnouts.

c'mon people chill out. although she did post in every forum and she does look like some1 whos been around on CC for a while, it's always possible that she was just seeking for comments like she said. innocent unless proven guilty right? cool down guys it's only a chance thread (yes i did post one myself bt it turned into a aussie/nz'er get-together place for a while lol). i know it's quite getting on your nerves when you see people with similar stuff posting while you are anxiously waiting for the decision, i do not see any reason to make an outright rude comment like desertman and ginny did (no offence though, perfectly understandable).

lets make CC a peaceful place as it was meant to be :) (sorry for the smily face if some of you have sth against it lol)

Ouch, ali_liu, you just got seriously served by Ginny.

I'm lost...
