RD teacher recs

hey, I was wondering if it's ok to ask 2 teachers that you've only had for senior year to write your recs. I'm planning on doing that for UChicago b/c I don't want my teachers to feel annoyed and write too many different recs for each of my colleges. Theres one teacher that I'm pretty sure I'll ask for my science rec (I've only had him for senior year) and one other teacher that I'm considering but I'm not sure if it'll be bad to have two teacher recommendations from teachers I've only been acquainted with during senior year. Thx for the help in advance and good luck on your ED admissions. I'm going through the same thing, except with Upenn, but I don't think I'll get in
:(

Why can't you ask jr. year teachers? Your reasoning is a little unclear.

I should remind you that this is YOUR future. Are you going to let a teacher's griping get in the way of that? If your teacher AGREED to write your recs, that means they are making a commitment to you and it is sort of rude of them to complain or act annoyed, if anything they should understand that this is a tough, sometimes confusing process for many seniors.

Also, Chicago does not have ED, only EA.

Anyway, I would not worry about what other people think, this is your future and forget about people who want to bring you down, even if they are teachers. In all likelihood though, I find it hard to believe that a teacher would be that rude and unmerciful.

Oops, sorry, didn't do my research, just assumed it was EA. I know, but I feel like I'm asking them a bit late. We're told by our counselors before that we should give them a month to write the recs and I'm asking them now, not to mention that a big chunk of that time will be during their holidays. I'm getting paranoid about how annoyed they'll be and I will ask my junior year teachers, except I've already asked them for some other colleges and I know that they'll have lots of other kids asking them. So... I'm not sure what to do, sorry if that was unclear

Ohhhh I see what you are saying, that makes sense. I sort of had the same issue.

Still, it would be easier for your junior year teachers becaue they already have your letter written and ready, they just have to print it off/copy it or whatever. As long as you give them the pre-addressed envelopes now it should be alright. Sure, maybe they will be a bit inconvenienced but they did agree to write your letter after all.

Yeah, but the Common App format is different from the UChicago format, so... I think I'll just try to mix it up. Hopefully, I'll get into my ED so I won't have to worry about this lol. Thx for your help
