I need to find out soon or I may just explode.

Hey did any of you who applied for GSP after getting selected get an application confirmation? I sent my form in by fax(lost the envelope :)), and have been getting kinda worried that maybe Fax isn't such a solid medium. Anyone?

I haven't yet- I think it said in another thread we'd get them in early April with everyone else, so give it another week or two

Yeah, I wouldn't worry too much about the application conformation thing. The swim coach told it was pretty much just a formality. They probably assume that anyone who was interested enough to apply would be interested enough to consder GSP if it was the only way they could go to NYU. I never got a confirmation that they received my confirmation sheet, but my recruiting status report says that my acceptance was official. NYU is supposed to send my financial aid/letter packet the first week of April. So, I'd probably expect the stuff to arrive sometime the first week of April. I'd love to get it next week with the rest of my letters, though. I'm really anxious to hear about the package everyone is offering.

I got an offer of gsp
My stats
SATI:1400
SATII:Writing-600, Math1C-740, Physics-760
Class rank: probably last 25% in my class

spent hours reading the six pages of posts @.@, still, hard to decide if I should join gsp

i called the nyu office of admissions to check to see if my return sheet saying i would like to be accepted to gsp was received and they said it was and that they wouldn't mail anything out until official acceptance letters closer to april

I'm wondering if there is a reason no NYU Administrator is willing to tell me concrete numbers or percentages about the number of GSP'ers who get into their original college. The most I've ever gotten was, "overwhelming majority". Does anyone know? I'm desperate!

I asked the same question early on. I was told that the the number was about 100%. I think that it is a really good program. If you really want to go to NYU you are almost guaranteed a place in CAS or whatever.I was given the option also, and seriously considered it. However, I have chosen the COM program at Boston University. If you really want to go to NYU, don't think that this program is below you--just look at the stats. I was at first put off by my acceptance, but grew to feel honored, actually.

I have asked the senior assistant director and he said that typically 85-90% of students successfully make the transition

So is there a point in any of us taking APs right now? I think they only count history and math AP's, but like econ, government, comp sci.....am I working myself to death in vain?

Sup future classmates .... I got in GSP too..

SAT 1150
Verbal 510 :(
Math 640

Top 10% of class

I'm looking at my GSP schedule...no math class? Looks like all writing and history...

I'm pretty sure there is no cut-off SAT because I got a 1150 (combined) and I still got into GSP. I just might be the lowest score that they took, but at least I'm here right. For those of you that aren't sure about NYU, let me just say that it's the best!

I've heard NYU is a dope campus and most people seem to love NYC. Just one thing. Does NYC really smell like pee? haha

omg
New Yorkers like me shun you non-city people
stop watching movies

HAha...honestly...some parts of the park can sometimes have the overwhelming aroma of urine, but that's just like anywhere else in the world that people decide to do there business in public or even gas station restrooms. Other than that, New York usually smells pretty good.

^ ppsh.. doesnt smell like urine. Only in really crappy subway stations especially in brooklyn. In Manhattan all the train stations are pretty well maintained because tourists usually visit Manhattan and nowhere else. yep. it rocks to live in new york city :) and I mean all 5 boroughs! not just manhattan, like out of state people think.

Exactly what courses do you have to take in the GSP?

do you pay more for GSP?

do people who apply to tisch get accepted to gsp?

No Tawny, they do not.
