<p>I doubt MHC waitlists people for yield protection. Wouldn’t they want to select their top applicants for their scholarship program?</p>
<p>Accepted! I was pretty much in UFOninja’s place of having just gotten waitlisted at Wellesley and Bryn Mawr and not really expecting to get into Scripps and Carleton, and when I found out I got into Mount Holyoke I burst into tears because I was so relieved! I got pretty good financial aid but the expected parent contribution in still really high… hopefully I’ll be able to go though!!!</p>
<p>I got waitlisted both Smith and Mount Holyoke! Extremely hate it! i rather to get rejection than being waitlisted! If any of you get waitlisted, just treat it as a rejection and move on to another school that will be better for you. I did a research about waitlist. You can only have chance when some accepted applicants decide to not attend the school. The point I’m trying to say right here is that percentage is extremely small. Sometimes, the college put almost 1000 people into waitlist and in the end they only pick 50-100 students randomly because waitlist is not ranked! My both top choice are gone! Of course any of you cried because of happiness since you got accepted, I cried because of painfulness.</p>
<p>I’m sorry linhnguyen05007! I’m sure it will all still work out in the end- and trust me, I just received 3 waitlists, 2 of which were from my other top schools. </p>

<p>Accepted in the Spring class! I know, I checked late, but they didn’t even send me an email saying that the decisions for out -_-. This is good because my work wants me to stay here longer :D</p>

<p>@poohgrace I’m in the same situation…I’m also a spring admit, and having trouble with financial aid. I can’t seem to log in as a first time user–my ‘verification information’ cannot be 'validated, apparently. Were you able to log in successfully even before the decisions were out?</p>
<p>I’m going through the grieving process. I was rejected. Deferred from ED and then rejected. I really wish they had just rejected me the first time around, and I guess I’m GLAD I wasn’t waitlisted. It would just be more torture. I thought I was over it… but… I’m heartbroken. I wasn’t accepted to any other schools that are at all like MHC, and all schools are NOT created equal. I will end up happy wherever, but right now I’m really upset because the safety school I’ll end up at is NOTHING like MHC. The other school I wanted to go to (2nd to MoHo) didn’t give me nearly enough financial aid, so safety school it will be.
Sorry, I just had to whine/vent. I’m sorry for everyone else whose dreams just came to an end like mine. :(</p>

I just checked my status. I have a problem though. My family contribution is $10,400 and I have been granted two grants, worth $30,000 altogether.
What does this mean? I’ll have to pay $10400 per year and then what are the grants for?
Sorry, a little help will be much appreciated.</p>
<p>Grants are given out based on demonstrated need and so unless your circumstances change I think we’re guaranteed to get them for all four years 
Scholarships are only renewed if you maintain a satisfactory work rate too (I think) if that helps!</p>
<p>Sorry to hear about your rejection, barefoot, I had exactly the same thing with Colorado College where they deferred me from EA and then rejected me this time around. I hope things work out for you!</p>
<p>Wait listed for both Mount Holyoke and Smith. 
I’m bummed because Moho was my top choice but I’m blessed with really great scholarships and grants from Ohio Wesleyan, College of Wooster and Salve Regina. I accepted their offer to be on the wait list and hopefully everything will work out for the best. But if not, I know I’ll be happy somewhere else. Keep positive ladies!</p>

<p>@nerves I had the same problem for the verification process when I first tried, but my mistake was that I put both my first and last name for the ‘first name’ section… lame mistake but fixing that did it! :)</p>
