Thanks for jumping in you guys (although I disagree about the weather! We probably have different standards for “cold”). Also wanted to point out that there’s a twelve college exchange program where you can go to other domestic schools like Dartmouth and Vassar. ([Twelve College Exchange :: Academic Deans :: Mount Holyoke College](http://www.mtholyoke.edu/academicdeans/twelve_college.html))

Mount Holyoke offered, I would imagine, several students across the US to visit their campus from April 21st to the 23rd. I was waitlisted at both Wellesley, my top choice :(, and Smith.

I know that it is very very very rare that applicants get off the waitlist, especially at popular institutions like those, but is it possible to visit other colleges during the Mount Holyoke visit?

I would imagine Smith would be convenient because it’s probably a short bus ride away being in the 5-college consortium (approximately 20 minutes). Wellesley doesn’t sound very convenient though (it’s approximately 35 minute drive, but I don’t know if there are bus lines that run between the schools).

Anybody that has attended this “free MHC college visit”, is there any free time in the schedule to sneak in another college visit or two?? Also, what was the schedule like?

Thanks so much! :)

vevexx: I hate to have to tell you this but there is very little time during the college visit to drive to the other schools; they keep things pretty busy. Also Wellesley is not 35 minutes, but about an hour and 45 minutes away. I would suggest planning a few extra days on your trip and tacking those schools on after you visit MHC.

And just to contribute to the weather discussion, it actually gets incredibly hot in late spring and early fall, and even winter isn’t bitterly cold.

I’m officially attending!!!
Compared to NC it gets quite cold. Almost everyday this year, I checked my home weather and then South Hadley’s :)

I’m an alum, but I’m willing to answer any questions you may have (via PM, as I don’t log on often). I did graduate two years ago, but I’m not that far removed from the MHC experience.

I am positive I made the right choice when I chose Mount Holyoke. Those of you who do choose it, will also feel the same way, even if it’s only on commencement day.

Again, feel free to private message me any questions about MHC. I’ll be as candid as possible in my response. :)

Accepted for Spring! Going to visit next week (had off campus interview but have never been to the campus).

Hi Alisyn,
The admitted students have to let the college know their decisions by May 1st. So, the Admissions Office should be able to give you information about waitlist activity after May 1st.

I was also a spring admit. Send me a personal message if you have any specific questions about my experience!
