Re-Application after rejection: Deerfield, ST G

If a candidate applied to a school previously and was rejected then re-applied one or two years later as a stronger candidate would his/her prior rejection hurt this candidate?

Any specifics on these schools: DA & St' G's

I think the school would most likely accept the candidate or at worst waitlist. I don’t think the school would reject the person again especially if this person has shown some type of major improvement. The school, however, will still look back at the candidates old admission file and probably compare why the person got rejected to how his stats are now.

^ most school throws out application files because honestly, who has the space for it?

obviously it wouldn’t hurt the candidate, if anything i think that it would show enthusiasm or dedication. someone on the forum last year got rejected from foxcroft but got accepted the next year, WITH full FA. i highly, highly doubt that it would hurt him/her, especially if they improved a lot.

Surprisingly, when I interviewed at Deerfield Academy my interviewer had all the notes taken from my last interviewer. It was quite strange. He even had my SSAT scores and essays. I think schools keep this if you mention repeating a year. Fortunately, I found myself accepted to Eaglebrook, a pre-prep BS in Deerfield. I have since repeated 8th grade and am now congruent in age with my peers and applying to DA. My interview went well. My mother told me it lasted 1 hour and 15 minutes! Ha! Anyway thanks for the replies.
