Re-calculated GPA question!

Does NYU take into account A's and A-'s as different?

I know that in high school (at least mine) they're both considered 4/4 points, but I've also heard that some colleges count it lower than a 4 pointer.

(our school uses computers to calculated grades, and my *****y spanish teacher decided to give an A- rather than the A the computer grade showed because I wasn't as white-collar as she was).

Please let me know if + or - have an effect on admission decisions!

A+ / a = 4.0
a- = 3.7
b+ = 3.3
b = 3.0
b- = 2.7
c+ = 2.3
c = 2.0
c- = 1.7
d+ = 1.3
d = 1.0
f = 0.0

is this for sure the basis for NYU’s re-calculating GPA system?
