Please chance me for my reaches:
Dartmouth
Duke
Princeton
Johns Hopkins

Thank you!

bumpppp
anyone?

As a URM, I believe that you have pretty good chances at all of those schools. Especially with those stats of yours too! Pretty good! SAT is a tad low…but URM should cover it up

very very good chances at all of those schools you will get into hopkins for sure!, what poor school in MD? I went to school in MD, randallstown high actually so i know a bit about poor schools in MD!

You do look very good. I daresay you would get into half of your reaches, perhaps.

But I do warn you, however, that being a URM with spectacular grades and extracurriculars does not guarantee entry. I have a friend who is just like you (Hispanic, top of the class, great ECs and everything), and she applied to the following reach schools:

Harvard
Yale
Princeton
Williams
Georgetown
Stanford
UC Berkeley

However, she only ended up getting into Williams and Georgetown. She was waitlisted at Harvard, and all of those other schools simply rejected her.

Write a fantastic essay. That may seal up the deal for you.

thank you guys! i have my heart set on Princeton. Hopefully i can get in!

I’d say your SAT scores are a bit low, especially given that you’ve been given the resources of prep classes.

Is your schedule the most rigourous one available?

I’d say that you have a shot, but I wouldn’t be as optimistic as the other posters are.

well my schedule is pretty rigorous. i can’t drop yearbook or newspaper because i have a leadership position in both. other than that, i’m taking the most rigorous ap courses that my school offers. the SAT prep class was not helpful at all. it was required but it didn’t help much.
