Is it possible to rescore the essay on the SAT? I think the readers gave me too low of a score. How much would it cost?

yes. you have to pay $50 which you will be refunded if they change the score. you should get someone (who knows what they are looking at) to read it first though to make sure that you really deserve a higher score, because the readers KNOW the score you got before, so they are more inclined to rescore it the same... i got mine rescored for the march test, i had 2 people deeply involved w/ sats who said it deserved a higher score and i still got the same score... so make sure you are willing to pay the $50....

ok. does the rescoring include the entire test, or just the essay?

if they scored it lower? will it change the mark?

yeah is it possible that the essay will be scored lower?

yeah. that is one way that they are trying to discourage people from getting it rescored. and it is just the essay. if you do decide to do it keep in mind that there is a time limit of how long you can wait to have it rescored (i think it is like 5 weeks). and with mine it took a really long time to get it rescored so it may even end up being too late if you are apply early.
