Hey y’all! I recently purchased the REA study guide entitled APUS History (Are you serious about getting a 5)! I want to know how it differs from Crash Course and if AMSCo would be Better. Thanks!

Aren’t REA and Crash course the same?

^There’s a prep book for APUSH by REA aside from Crash Course. I used both and got a 5.

You should still get Crash Course in addition to that book, or you can get AMSCO instead of the one you have now.

In the end you should have either:

REA prep book + Crash Course or
AMSCO + Crash Course

and that’s all you’ll need. Many people have reported success with the latter choice, but I can attest to the first choice as well. In any case, Crash Course is absolutely necessary. (Well, of course you don’t NEED to get it to get a 5, but it would sure make it a lot easier.)

Is the REA book basically crash course plus more?

Not necessarily. There aren’t too many similarities between them that I noticed. Crash Course is much better to focus on because it pinpoints the important things.
