@sitarahramesh WHOA. You’re from Bangalore!!! That’s my dad’s hometown and one of my favorite places in the world! I go back and visit for a couple months over summer every four years

One thing to remember: admission and administration is two bunch of people ! You can say whatever you like to admission and still take up different majors at the end, so that can hardly be a criteria for admission decision.

Otherwise we might as well all lie to them.

@HinduPowers It’s an amazing city. But I bet Stanford, CA is much better.

@hashtagyoloswag, that summarizes my emotions perfectly. I don’t know how to feel about anything. Prep for finals is preventing me from leaning back and not thinking about decisions.

@hashtagyoloswag

forreals! my whole world is on pause for Stanford.

true and i was concerened about this, but if through your essays and application you demonstrate a passion for a humanities (I promise this is not me speculating, this is what the history professor understood from Dean Shaw), it’s a bonus considering how few people decide to major in history or english, for example, at Stanford. True people can lie on their app, but people who are committed to their major will have some way of demonstrating that.

If I don’t get in will I die?

^^^^^^ truuuuuuuuu

@savethetrees
It’s an awful feeling isn’t it? Right now I feel like I would honestly prefer a rejection over a deferral. I don’t see how I could do this waiting for 3 more months (although I’m sure I won’t be saying the same thing when decisions come if I do get rejected hahaha).

@juniperhills
I remember I told myself I was going to be working on RD apps during this waiting period too. The recently watched section on my netflix account paints a pretty good picture of what I’ve accomplished in the last few weeks

I should be writing my response to Beloved (great book by the way) but Stanford stress won’t allow me

I just want to know. I won’t have any semblance of focus until then.

@lakef14 Congrats on your first post bro!

@elizabh
I read Beloved last year, and wrote about it in my intellectual vitality essay. :P

CC is not healthy… I’m on it more and more as judgement day grows closer… See you later guys, Imma book it while I can. See you all on FRIDAY D:

@Sabra0627 Stanford had 135 majors last year in History or English, compared to 144 majors in Computer Science, which isn’t few at all.

I agree, CC is definitely not healthy; I keep on checking this thread. I can see that we’re all growing more frantic as each minute passes. I can’t wait yet I don’t want to see it if it’s a rejection. I don’t know how to feel anymore.

Let’s all go to sleep.

It’s only 5:25 PM for me! The sun isn’t even down yet.

All I am saying is what the professor (who is a close family friend and is brutally honest) told me about humanities majors, so I can’t really say anything else but take it as you like

How are you seeing this?

edit: oops, meant to quote this:

a1n1o1n:
So I have an interesting situation where I can basically see when my application is viewed by an admissions officer. I just saw someone view it an hour ago–what do you think could be going on?
Didn’t know they worked this late!

Well, it would be kinda sad if it were true, since Stanford has such a great humanities program, but I suppose the entrepreneurial spirit is overpowering.

I would totally major/double major in English if I could, and I like Stanford’s English program structure more than any other I researched in the ivy league. Oh well.
