hey guys,

Quick question. Which book, (REA or AMSCO), is a better buy in preparation for the AP U.S. History exam?

I like REA, personally.

I like AMSCO.

REA all the way!!!!

it has 6 practice tests!!!!

my teacher uses AMSCO...but REA is way more indepth..like the explanations they give to MC questions are all sooo much in depth..they are each like essays

go with REA!!! (u better decide soon btw)

In my opinion I like Amsco for its comprehensive review of history it covers all the main points alittle more thorough than REA ,however I find that the REA book is better for the practice tests and its explanations.

My teacher gave me REA, but I'm reviewing with AMSCO (then taking the REA tests). Hope that helps be get a self-studied 4-5.

i've seen both

Amsco=broad overview of all of USHistory
REA=really in depth on narrow topics

Using both would be ideal if you have the time, Amsco might take more time for a comprehensive review, REA omits a lot the stuff you might have forgotten, but I can see it having great value on FR and those hard questions on easily overlooked things like treaties/documents...etc

If I'm getting around 8/10 right on the AMSCO review section, can I assume that I'll get around 60/80 +/- 5 questions?

I have both. AMSCO's review is better by far.

Uhh, Amsco is way more in depth than REA... but go with REA if you haven't started prepping yet, Amsco takes forever to get through...

If I'm getting around 8/10 right on the AMSCO review section, can I assume that I'll get around 60/80 +/- 5 questions?

are the rea tests accurate?

I found REA to be a little wordy. AMSCO was short and right to the point (Just how I like to study).

If I'm getting around 8/10 right on the AMSCO review section, can I assume that I'll get around 60/80 +/- 5 questions?

I'm not sure how the review compares to the actual AP test. If I remember correctly, they have practice review exams for all subjects on College Board. How people do on the College Board exam is typically how they do on the real test, and sometimes they do better.
