Chances for: Duke, Princeton, Yale, MIT, Caltech, WashU, Vanderbilt would be greatly appreciated!

Could also use suggestions on the best school for BME - or a suggestion whether to major in BME or not ;)

i hate these sorts of chances because it’s hard for everyone! i’d say you have a better chance at washu and vanderblit than the other schools.

definitely look into Johns Hopkins and UCSD for BME :)

chance back! http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1225356-compsci-schools-students-bad-stats-like-me-uc-chancers-please-look.html

Yeah… that’s sort of why I need opinions; I have no idea if I should try or not.

Duke - 60%
Princeton- 27%
, Yale,- 23%
MIT- 25%
Caltech- 25%
WashU- 80%
Vanderbilt- 80%

Anyone else have opinions on the “crapshoot” or strategic nature of the admissions game?

Kevin, you should definitely “try” at all the schools you’ve listed. You are a competitive applicant with impressive stats and resume. Are you applying ED anywhere? Besides JHU as vernontwg suggested, what about adding Rice and Northwestern to the mix?

Disclaimer: I maybe a newbie on CC, but I know what I’m talking about.

Princeton, Yale, MIT, Caltech are super tough schools. I think you’d have a decent chance for early, but for regular, definitely work on your essay.

Duke, Wash U, Vanderbilt: Reach

Have you considered BA/MD (accelerated 7 year programs)? They have great ones at Northwestern and Brown. For regular BME programs, keep in mind which school will help you get into med school.

Chance back?
