Reach Schools

I have pretty good stats (2270 SAT, 3.93 GPA, 11 total AP's by graduation, committed EC participation/awards).

My list thus far is this:

Reaches:
Harvard
Princeton
Penn-Wharton (might try for Jerome Fisher M&T)
Stanford
MIT
Columbia
UChicago
Dartmouth
Duke

Matches:
Vanderbilt
NYU Stern
UMich Ross
UVA

Safeties (TX resident):
UT Austin
TAMU

Overall, I'm looking for schools that are strong in both sciences and finance. I'm interested in medicine, engineering or finance as career options. Any thoughts? I think my list is pretty reach-heavy right now.

Washington Univ/St. Louis - Possibly a match.

It is okay to be reach heavy if you have satisfying and affordable safety schools. Those matches are not really so easy to get into, so you may or may not have many choices when the time comes.

How about money? have you broached that subject with your parents? sat down with the net price calculator and shown them what each school will expect them to pay?

Yes, I would agree that all of your matches are ‘high matches’. Are you guaranteed access to U-T Austin, and would you be happy to go there?
