Is UCLA a far reach, if yes what other schools are comparable and easyier to get in to?

i like LA a lot what are other options?

wbravo:

UCLA: Reach

definite reach, your minority status will not help because public schools in CA can't use it as an admission criteria. GPA, is on the low side and so is current SAT 1.

if you like LA a lot and UCLA (and therefore probably USC) is a reach, look at Loyola Marymount and Whittier.

Just work on getting your SATs over 2100---you have a good chance. Your SAT IIs are great.

Bumpbumpbump

How much does freshman GPA impact one's application, anyway?

hopefully not a lot : (

zero, for the UCs

wbravo, I think you should recalculate your UC GPA without using freshman year GPA. UC's do NOT care about your freshman grades.

That makes your UC Weighted GPA around 4.0, which could put you into slight reach or even match (depending on your new SAT scores).
