Reaches... I don't want to retake the SAT

Hey all - any views on Harvard, Princeton, Brown, Columbia, Tufts, Oberlin, Wesleyan, BC? Thanks so much!

GPA: 4.0, WGPA: 4.44 (school doesn't rank, but definitely in top 5)
Sat1: 2140, R: 690, W: 730, M: 720
Sat2: Chemistry - 760, US History - 680, Math 2 - 740
APs - US History 5, others (taking now) - BC Calc, Chem, Psychology, English (most rigorous coarseload)

EC's

Drama - participant in all Fall/Spring Drama productions (7 so far), lead role in 2 major musicals, supporting lead roles in 2 others

Speech Team - President (Junior and Senior year), 3x State Champion, National finalist out of hundreds of competitors

Music - jazz guitarist in HS jazz band (also play piano, bass and sax - in HS band), Sr. District jazz guitarist Sophomore and Junior Years, Massachusetts All-State Jazz Guitarist Sophomore year - selected to be featured with the ensemble at Symphony Hall, performances at Ryles Jazz Club, local colleges and Jordan Hall... NEC Jazz Prep Program member, freelance musician and music instructor, I've also worked with some professional choreographers doing commissioned pieces for dance concert and recitals (usually abstract, out jazz), hoping to send a nice CD if I can find the funds to make it...

Men's Vocal Ensemble (all 4 years), School Symphonic Band (Ten. Sax)

Class of 2008 Treasurer (Sophomore, Junior, Senior)

NYLF on medicine in summer of 2006

Columbia Book Award, Bausch and Lomb Science Award, Math Departmental Honors

Intramural Soccer, employee a ice cream parlor... If that helps any too!

Service: Church volunteer for Sunday School Classes, Special Needs Camp Volunteer over the summer of 2007 for 5 weeks - 1 week residential (this experience changed my life and I am most likely basing my main essay around it, about how it convinced me to devote my life to trying to make others happier/have better lives, rather than just pursuing my own happiness, ex. music/theater...), Special Needs volunteer for Saturday program in my town (we bring around about 20 people with disabilities all over town for field trips and things like that, there are 2 staff members and me).

I know the SAT is a little mediocore, but I really don't want to retake it, because I'm not sure how much it will improve, and the Saturday program I work at really needs me due to the number of clients we have... Thanks again!

Try taking the ACT then. Many who don't do well on the SAT do quite well on the ACT.

Thanks for the response! I'll look into the ACT, but Is a 2140 that bad? Can anybody give me their opinion of my chances with the given stats if I didn't take the act or retake the sat?

I think with a 2140, it is definately acceptable to the point that it will not be the deciding factor in admissions.

It won't help you. So you need everything else to be strong to make up for it.
