What were people's reaction to your acceptance or deferral to Pton? My D was accepted and quietly and early the next day thanked her recommenders (one cried). But the more unexpected were some of the insensitve or rude remarks from classmates and friends. I am sure others had similiar experiences including many of the deferrals. The following were some of the quotes.

1) Well, this year they let in everybody.
2) It is easier to get in as a girl (in fact same acceptance %)
3) I don't how you got accepted when I was deferred by Brown. We had the same SAT scores! (actually his was 150 points lower! Grades were a lot lower).

Haha, I sort of became the school mini-celeb. People I haven't talked to in ages came up to me and congratulated me. The word "Ivy" is so foreign to most of our student body; we so rarely send people there. I wish I could keep the feeling I had that day forever.

i think there is a general agreement amongst the students of my high school that i am undeserving of a spot at princeton lol.

i think the reason might be because they dont realize how much i do outside of school (like hardcore protests and the like :)) they also dont realize sat scores, and many other factors. summer programs, ECs, art, and essays all contributed a great deal to my acceptance - which i think people that were ranked higher than me didnt want to realize.

i got lotsa praise and congratulations. my school is very friendly and supportive of each other. when people get into top 25 schools the entire school knows in less than half an hour. people were very happy to see that i got into my first choice school. i guess my school is abnormal...

Yeah, it's so crazy how fast it gets around the school. Like, I told two people, and within an hour's time nearly everyone in my 1800-student school seemed to know, faculty and other administration included. It was insane.
