Read my essay for NU?

<p>Hey.</p>

<p>I wrote a heartfelt essay about wanting to take a specific course at NU. I am wondering whether writing about something personal instead of academic in college essays would be to my detriment. In any case, I have had two people look at it already, but I want to find a more general opinion on whether this type of essay would be good for college essays.</p>

<p>It is an essay very specific to me, so I don't think anyone would run off and copy it. If anyone wants to read it, please PM, post here, or leave your email address.</p>

<p>IMO, writing about something personal might be better than writing about an academic experience. Since the rest of your application has to do with academics, it might be give the adcoms a chance to get to know you if you write about something more personal in your essay.</p>
