If you have a SAT score of 2000+ and a GPA consisting of mainly As, you will get in so stop making chance threads if you meet the standards above

LOL. Are you sure? You never know…lol.

That would be a less than average SAT score at Emory. Definitely not a certain admit. To be fairly certain of being admitted at any top 20 Univ. a student needs to be in the top quartile, even with “a GPA consisting of mianly A’s.” At a half dozen or more schools even that won’t provide certaintly.

What about my chances of being at least a semi-finalist for the Scholar’s Program?

SAT:

Oct: CR: 760
M: 670
W: 710 (12 on essay)

June: CR: 660
M: 710
W: 720

Jan: CR: 680
M: 640
W: 590

SAT II:

May: US Hist: 760
Lit: 760
Math IC: 670

AP:

CALC AB - 5
ENG. Lang/Comp - 5
US Hist - 5

GPA:

All As (one B for Chem last year)
Weighted: 5.60
Unweighted: 3.9818
Top two percent in a class of 500 students.

I also have pretty good ecs.

Do you think I have a shot for semi-finalist?

Thanks for the chances.

Your SAT score is frankly too low for being a scholar

Okay.

How about for regular admission? You think I could get in then?

I think you can get in…but EC’s?

emorybound, wat do u think i should do

Stats:
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/emory-university/414553-should-i-apply-edii.html

on the decision threads ive seen ppl with SAT scores that are 100 pts. higher than mine get rejected RD, i’m thinkin about applyin EDII

They didn’t get rejected based on SAT scores, for sure…Other things must have been deficient…Emory is not all about scores…

Splinter - You will likely get in unless you write bunch of bs on the app essay like one of my friends did (I might post story if necessary)

same goes for you oakleys4

P.S. sure the SAT 2000+ is not the absolute requirement, yet it is a pretty darn good estimate of admission

I will give you some hints on writing a good essay

write how much you love Atlanta and them Falcons

write about all the praises that Emory receive in princeton’s best college guide or what not

write about your fervent love with Mac

write about your infinite love for President Carter/Dalai Lama (write how you voted for him in his 2nd run and changed your religion to Tibet)

write about the pamphlet that Emory sends you (one that called something like why emory) examples are like, I love how Emory is so small yet it’s so big!!! OMG there are 35 majors possible? OMG there are 30% Asians~~~

More to come

Love,

Emorybound

write about you are “PRE - somthing (med/den/vet/business/law)”

write how much you love Coca Cola

write about brand new campus buildings

write how much you DO NOT like football (jk)

Is achievement to form one’s identity too conventional, thus too boring for an admission essay?

emorybound, i am holding u accountable if i dont get in,
since u are 99.9% sure
lol
