how long are we guaranteed housing?

Freshman year.

what? only one year? and then what?

You have to live in an old refrigerator box on South Street.

You usually CAN get on campus housing, but it isn't guaranteed (I don't know anyone who hasn't gotten housing though). There's always off campus housing too.

so most people do get four years of housing then?

I think what you are meaning to ask is: students who want to live on campus for 4 years usually get housing? YES, YES, YES providing that all deadlines for notifiction to university are met. You will have no problem.

Hazmat is correct: If you want to stay on campus you definitely can. As tight as housing is, you'll find that it is actually quite accomodating in terms of finding you a spot. Given it may not be your first choice (after freshman year, for instance, it's hard to get the exact conditions you desire in the High Rises because they are so popular) but if you talk to housing services and get things in by the deadlines you will have a much better chance.

what about for transfers? do they get housing?

i think when i went on the housing tour there was a specific dorm for transfers, but i could be wrong.
