What is the best stratagey to use for the reading portion of the ACT, escpecially if you have trouble reading all the passages in the given time frame?

I am taking the april ACT. Here is what I found when I practiced: When I read each passage I read it at my own pace (which is about 3-5 min.) then I go to the questions. Most of the time, the answers will come right to me because it is directly know form the passage or infered. The rest of the questions, refers you to a line in which I go back and read over.

I think I may just stick with this method becuase it seems to work for me and I must prectice using that method so that I become accoustomed to it. But I would tell you to test it out and see which method you prefer.

What I prefer to do is skim the passage...if i come across something I dont understand...I just keep right on reading...then for the questions I either refer back to the lines that the question indicates or if I dont know the answer to a question that asks me to infer something...I usually quickly reread the section that they are talking about to get the gist of the portion...using this method I managed to get a 36 subscore in the reading portion (but I think I was just lucky that day...shrug)

like the above poster said...I would highly recommend you test each method your considering by yourself to see which one works best...
