Learn to knit, scrapbook, needle felt, crochet, sculpt, draw, paint, sew, etc.

Walk your dog.

Masturbate.

Exercise.

Work on your novels. All 294823978 of them.

If you must read ahead, go by the syllabi. If you don't have syllabi yet, why bother?

i take engcomp 3 too, wuts ur lecture number? im lecture 38

Start looking for a jarb! Volunteer somewhere....there are plenty of activities, search for them.

I been leafing through a multivariable calculus book to prepare for economics 11. I never bothered to learn it and for some reason, the textbook is loaded with it even though multivariable calculus is not a prerequisite... ****.

I plan on taking multivariable in the winter anyways.

LA CLuster: Probably won't need to read everything. So don't waste your time. Besides, you don't know what you're looking for when you're reading the texts.

Math 3A? Same thing. Also, depends heavily on how professor teaches and how he/she grades/tests for.

I remember feeling this way before high school. And I DID read two chapters of my spanish book.

The chapters we of course skipped ;).

And when I was overloaded with work, I completely regretted wasting my summer STUDYING when I could I just been doing whatever I wanted.

i always read ahead.... in my first quarter. now i barely read :)

now that we got to this...how do you guys take notes during lectures? its a big concern to me cuz i never took notes in high school...

Depends on the class.
You get a feel for the prof, fig. out what's important.
Go ahead and anal, neurotic, and meticulous the first week and half or so. Talk to your T/A and instructor. Find out what you need to know and follow-through.

As for you namaste - lies! I know you read everything for one certain class halfway through spring quarter. :p :)

trust me enjoy your summer of academic-freeness because you will be loaded and it will not be fun...but the rest of college life will be :] cheers

Yea...don't bother. It may help for the first or second week, but just enjoy your summer. The rest will come along.

Notetaking, I just use a basic I -> a-> 1 outline format

cool, how detailed should the notes be?

Read mme-lin's post again hater :) It really depends. You'll probably spend the first week being picky and writing down everything, but once you get a feel for the teacher, you will understand what is really important and what isn't.

There hasn't been a time where I used the same note taking layout for multiple teachers.

kk, thanks altema

hater, no i'm not in your eng comp 3 lecture. i have westbay as a teacher. anybody willing to comment on her?

Writing Classes have a large set of graduate students for teaching the designated course (i.e. English Comp. 3 or 4W). Not all of the instructors teach the same course consistently quarter-to-quarter... so it would be somewhat hard-pressed to get a good amount of reviews of Westbay.

Generally though, Eng Comp 3 = E-Z. DWAI.

hell yeah...one more class to NWA!!!

this is not a good sign ist?

More like you better not mess up in that class! 4.0 for the win!

i guess so...i was gonna do a victory lap...
