When reading a lot about many colleges' ACT score ranges, I noticed that the colleges only showed the English, Math, Essay, and Composite scores. I'm wondering if the schools receive the science and reading sections or if they are just included as part of the composite score. Perhaps this is just a way for ACT to try to stop superscoring sections.

Colleges receive all the section scores along with composite. In fact, it is impossible for you to prevent that from occurring when sending a test score. You will often see English and math ranges shown without the other section score ranges because: (a) many colleges consider English and math the more important section scores, (b) those are the sections that get compared to the SAT critical reading and math sections, and (c) in line with the above USNews in its rating data long ago deemed those two sections the ones to be mainly reported in comparison to the SAT reading and math scores.

ACT does not care one way or the other if a college superscores ACT tests. A minority of colleges do. Most do not and that is mainly due to the historical fact that ACT charges you a fee to send each test score you have to a college while SAT allows you to send to a college all scores you have for one fee. Thus, most colleges chose not to superscore ACT because of the cost to the applicant of sending multiple test scores.
