Okay, I need to do pretty good on the ACT because I did horrible on the SAT. On the practice tests I am doing, the math and english parts are fine for me, but I have the most difficulty on the science and reading parts. Do any of you have some suggestions or tips to help me? Thanks.

Get practice material (books, old tests, etc.) and work problems under timed conditions until you can find the strategy that works best for you.

Reading and Science are less knowledge-based than Math and English. So you don't have to study grammar rules or review a branch of mathematics to raise your score. The goal on these two sections is to improve the speed and accuracy of your comprehension.

Reading I don't really have any tips on except taking as many practice tests as you can. However on Science I would suggest doing the test in order of difficulty. Start on the three graph sections. Some of these passages can be done in like 2 and a half minutes. Then proceed to the expirements. On the expiremnts I would suggest also doing the easiest ones first. Then finnally go to the Debating Scientists. For me graphs were always easy and by doing them first i could really put my time into focus for the whole test.

Practice practice practice. Everybody has advice, but the only way you'll find what works for YOU is if you take practice tests. Also, as you take more practice tests, you'll find little ins and outs that you never noticed before that will help you on the actual test. You'll find out yourself what works and what doesn't, and that will help you a lot more than what anybody has to tell you online.

If you practice enough, the reading questions (as other sections as well) become simply predictable. Examine the questions used on previous tests and you'll notice a trend of similar questions, just with different content. If you know how to answer these, you can literally answer any question on the section.
