Reading Articles for the SAT

Hello,

The SAT critical reading comprises of excerpts from literary stories-both fictional and non-fictional, political issues, and scientific articles. What are the best sites to read these articles for both the SAT critical reading and the SAT essay?

Any input is appreciated!!

Are you asking “what are good sources for literary excerpts and essays that are good examples of the SAT excertps, and is good material to use in the essay”? If that’s the question – then the answer is a broad selection of advanced literary works, essays and short stories in literary magazines, etc.

If you’re asking whether the “sources are fixed and known”, they are not.

I would hit up the New York Times (though you can only get so many articles online), Wall Street Journal, Slate, NYMag, The New Yorker, and any other reputable journalistic sources. These sources have boundless arrays of topics, sections, etc. so you’ll definitely find something of interest to you.

But keep in mind you really won’t be able to find excerpts that would definitely be on the SAT. The above sources just give examples of the level of reading comprehension that is required for CR.

This is probably something everybody will be interest. Half a year’s worth of Wall Street Journal delivered to your house, everyday, for free! It doesn’t really matter what kind of subject matter you read to prepare, as long as you are reading hard material like WSJ. However, if you have a lot trouble with science articles, you should read those.

hav u guys heard of cummings study guides? It comprises of almost all famous literary works. I think those can be used as examples in the SAT essays.
