So my dilemma is that I'm losing all my points on the reading section. I'm getting consistent 800's on math, I'll lose about 2 on the whole writing section, but I'm missing on average 4 on every reading section.
Does anyone have any tips? I would greatly appreciate it if people could give me some advice, workbooks, or useful previous threads on hard critical reading questions. Thanks!

How many reading questions do you miss in total? What is your weakness? Do you miss vocabulary questions or passage questions?

If reading questions are what is being missed, I would suggest memorizing lists of repeating vocabulary on the SAT. There are many useful books to help with that.

Practice for passage based reading questions is different. Depending on the type of passage question, different methods can be utilized. One technique would be to look at the passage as a whole to answer each question; generally, the first & last sentences of each paragraph can greatly help if a person is stuck trying to find the answer. Another technique would be to look at the sentence before & the sentence after of the specified lines of the passage question. The method that helped me was marking each line of the passage by skimming through the passage questions before reading the passage; also, remember to never make inferences outside of the passage & concentrate solely on what is written in the passage text. A more detailed analysis of strategies can be found in Silverturtle’s Guide in the critical reading section. Eventually, after enough practice, there may come a breaking point that will allow you to undertand how the SAT testmakers WANT their questions to be answered.

Silverturtle’s Guide provides many useful tips; the strategies can be found in the critical reading section of the guide.

Ok thanks. My main issue is that I miss very little with vocabulary (maybe 2-3 max), and miss most in the actual passages. I appreciate the tips!

Depending on the desired score, those 2-3 vocabulary question errors could be thwarting the craved score from being achieved.

The most important thing to do is practice, though; the reading score should rise after accumulation of practice.

Vocab helps. And just reading does as well. Reading for pleasure, reading literary works. It helps your brain function and improves reading comprehension skills.
