Reading on the ACT

Hey all.
What do you guys do on the reading test? Do you guys actually read the passages? Or do you guys go though some type of cycle of steps to complete each passage?
I just took a practice test in PR with PR's method of approaching these problems, and my first score without the method (22) increased to a 24 with the method. Should I keep practicing this method, or take a new approach? Reading is probably my weakness on the ACT, so I'm fairly concerned.

Thanks in advanced.

This is what I do: I read the passage
It helps, you don’t have to search through paragraphs just to find one answer. Reading the entire passage allows you to get the whole scope of what is actually being said. Just because the answers are right there in the passage don’t use that as a crutch.
