Hello!
I have problems about reading like most of the time.My problem is about passage based questions especiaaly section 8.As it is near to the end i cant properly focus and this screws up my moderate reading score which ranges between 560-620 but i should get 650.I mostly get 11/18 sentence completion because im not in a country which english is not main language and i have limited vocabulary. As i can not get 18/18 or 19/19 i need to do very good at passages.Any advice will help. What i should do to focus im so desperate right now :(.Btw my wring is between 650-770 which sounds absurd :).And math is 720-780 due to stupid mistakes.
Any advice will help about reading.I know there are a lot of thrrads about readimg but my problem is about how to focus and maintain it as i move through passage.

I don’t know why you are saying you can’t get perfect mark on sentence completion, it’s all about memorizing vocab and understanding the flow of the sentence. I used to get 600ish in reading due to 11~12/19 sentence completion but once I started getting near full mark, it went up to 700 in no time. 7-8 more rights is a big difference to your CR score. It’s really easy to get the vocab. Get Direct Hits from Amazon, or get lists of SAT words from internet, usually 1000 words. Memorize 50 a day and keep reviewing your vocab. Just knowing your vocab will help you understand the passage much more easily.
I usually get relaxed and lose focus at the last section of reading, and what I usually do is pinch my arm or face to wake me up and keep me going and think about the possibly miserable face that I might make in case of low CR score because of lack of concentration at the last section. You don’t want that to happen and regret later. Don’t get excited that you only have 2 more sections left and think you just got into the exam and you are in full condition. Try to get good sleep, and get into good condition before the test.

Vocabulary is the easier part, just take some time learning the words. I learnt all the words from McGraw’s SAT preparation book and collected all unknown words from College Board practice tests and memorized them. There is a group of words that are repeating in the tests, you will notice while doing practice tests prepared by College Board. Learning those will make you confident. Find sentence completion practice online. You will improve with practice!
