Are you sure about these answers?

"a genuine thing followed by a snide observation" was not how it appeared. I think it was "praiseworth thing followed by snide observation."

elation at the word "another" --> I strongly disagree on this one because I thought this was answer and put down. BUT if you read before and after, you see that her mother didn't seem to care about her. So her action of "another bigger sister" showed "depth of her caring."

i know i can't get the exact wording
but for that another one she explicitly says taht she was glad that her mom used "addition to" and not "instead of"

hmm I did not get the korean mom section OR the whale one... were they together?

"a genuine thing followed by a snide observation" was not how it appeared. I think it was "praiseworth thing followed by snide observation." -- gray

I agree w/ gray, i think the OP was thinking of the right choice but incorrectly worded it. praiseworthy (something) followed by snide observation.

"elation at the word "another" --> I strongly disagree on this one " --I'm pretty sure the answer is elation at the word another. THe mother in fact is not so caring at all, she forgets appointments with her daughter all the time (the daughter even develops a method to protect herself from disappointment).

It was something with a snide observation. There was only one answer choice with that in it.

I have the elation at the another as an answer also, which I was sure about at the time. Hahaha. Anyone else?

"what did the word nod mean... swift acknowledgement"

TheF, i disagree with your answer. i think the answer was a passing acknowledgement, but i think i got the wording wrong. i know the first word in the choice i chose was passing.

i didnt get the koran mom or the whale one either

the one with snide observation is right i think
bc there was only one answer with snide in it

the elation at the word,i think i got it wrong

but if those are right and i miss one, then i think
i did pretty good for my first time taking the SATs
on the CR anyways, =)

topaz, yes it was passing notice i believe

I think you are having some trouble remembering the korean mom passage!

"tone describing the passage about the mom's hand... ingenuous"

Ingenious? I didn't get that answer (and i did have the korean hands passage). i don't know which question you are talking about, however. there was no question on the general passage tone. there was one question on the tone of a paragraph where mom kisses baby son's hands. tone was playful (or mom was playful, can't remember)

"how has she succeded... her children became professionals"

Was the question you are thinking about the one with an answer like, she wanted her kids to use their intellect in their profession. what u said wasn't the question

what did paragraph 2 represent... showing how her mother worked to maintain a family

it showed that she is industrious and ____ forget, it was choice A. is that the one you are thinking of?

Maybe we just had different questions for this section. btw it was experimental, don't worry abt it

also in the korean passage, the first question was what does "old" most nearly mean and i put worn.

I got passing something too. Swift acknowledgment was not right.

I didn't read anything about the whale or Korean mother either

Experimental probably?

truth! I did have an extra math section

it wasn't snide observations but
snide remarks
and wry observations

^ yeah, that's right. I remember the wry observation one.

wait so wry observation wasn't a correct answer

For the founding fathers,

What did the authors of both passage use questions for?

I think I put to introduce a topic to be commented on.

i agree with menuetto. chinnu wry observations was a correct answer

es and yes

what about snide remarks
