Reading the tea leaves...

OK, maybe I am just imagining things because waiting is so nerve-wracking, but...Occidental's financial aid office called my ex's house yesterday to clarify something from her CSS Profile.

This means she's accepted, right?! Her file wouldn't get passed to the financial aid office otherwise? They can't possibly work through all the financial info for every applicant; it'd be a huge waste of time since so many won't be accepted.

Am I reading too much into this?

I think you might be reading a bit too much into this. You'd be surprised about how much work the financial aid office does. Plus since Oxy is such a small college, I would think that they would compare applicants after having reviewed them individually. Therefore, I feel that a final decision wouldn't be made until around the time that they are supposed to release that information.

It certainly is not a bad sign though :)

I was thinking the same thing when I got an email from Oxy that said the admissions office notified the financial aid department that I didn't say whether or not I want aid. I'm guessing it's a good sign because it said that the admissions office went out of their way to notify them. I could just be too optimistic though.
