Reading your own recommendation letters

I don’t think a teacher would, in good conscience, write a negative LOR for a student that has waived screening. Any teacher with apprehensions about recommending a student would, I would hope, politely decline. Signing a waiver and then asking to see it anyway might negatively impact the writer’s perception of the student and their ethics. Doesn’t that hurt what is written about you? Doesn’t it hurt your reputation? In my opinion, that’s even worse. Whoever you approach to write a LOR should be someone you respect, and it’s just disrespectful to ask them to be deceptive in any way. The application is basically the first time the college is asking you to be honest and by lying, you’re already violating the honor code before stepping foot on campus.
