I don't count my "real" friends, nor do I plan to in the future. I can say it's a closely-knit circle. Not too thick, so I'm definitely not a popular social butterfly. I really hope my pals don't desert me anytime soon, though, as was what had happened with my friends in junior high school who are now just meager dumbasses.

Oh, people we can count on forever?

I was just listing the people I truly respected...

i have five-six true friends, but i am getting much closer with my we the people (constitutional competition team) unit

lol gonzo, lucky u, ur doing the mock trial thing right?

yeah some people are stupid like that and once they hit the next level of schooling then you're not 'cool' enough...but I have a small tight-knit group and then a bigger group and then my four real ones I would jump in front of a bullet for...

Hm...if you put it that way I think my sister's the only real friend I have. All else is transitory.

One or two.

one... two... three... four... five... six... seven.... seven. that i would trust with my life.

maybe ten or so that i love a lot a lot.

Let's see.... in whom would I confide all my secrets? (I don't have any secrets that matter anymore... but still... there are things that I don't mention to just anybody.)

Well... I have one friend (maybe two) whom I totally trust and love and to whom I'd be likely to tell every little thing that's ever been on my mind, if the right moment came up. (Some people inspire that sort of confidence--you kind of want to tell them, because if it's something you feel bad about, then you know that they can make you feel better and would never judge you.) I feel like I would sacrifice a lot to help them (okay, I'm talking two people now)... just drop everything and go wherever they needed me, at whatever time of the night or day.

I have another two or three who I also consider "true friends," but who don't
quite have the same qualities as that ^ one (or two).

I'd say I have about 4 so-called "true friends." No fewer than that, I don't think.

---------------------- [another note:]

My brother was very popular with both students and teachers. Just about the whole high school was friends with him. When he was in the hospital with cancer, many of even his closest friends got too scared for him (or of him?) to visit very often... but there was one girl who came and visited him whenever she got the chance, even when it was hard for me to even look at him without breaking down. She was there for him right through to the end. That's a true friend.
And she still visits my family when she's home on a break from college.
