One side of a triangle has length 6 and a second side has length 7. Which of the following could be the area of this triangle?

13
II. 21
III. 24

The answer is (I and II)

Explanations, anyone?

The reason 24 cannot be an area is because a triangle's area is NEVER larger than its area at 90 degrees. So assuming 6 and 7 are at right angles, you get 1/2(bh) = 21. 21 is the maximum area this triangle can be, because area is base times perpendicular height. Any other configuration will be less than or equal to, but not more, than 21.
