Real SAT Scores Vs. Practice Test Scores

Are SAT practice test scores even comparable to what one might make on the real SAT? I'm skeptical, and was wondering if anyone had any scores to share.

Yes - in a way. You really have to simulate the conditions, but our experience is that nothing concentrates the mind as an actual SAT. You may very well do better on the SAT than you have been doing in the practices. Best of luck (though it is not really luck.)

it depends on how you are. Some people do better on the real SAT because they find themselves focusing more on the test in the school conditions than while they are in the comfort of their own home. Some people do worse because there is more pressure on the actual test and you have more anxiety. For me, I actually did better on the real one. On practice tests, I would generally get around 5 reading comp wrong but on the actual one, I got 3 wrong. And for Writing, I would get a couple wrong in practice, but I got perfect mc and perfect essay on the actual one. I didn’t study math though (already had a 770)

It really depends on your performance at the real test. Usually, you will score within 50-100 points from your practice at the first attempt. My D got 200+ points lower than her practice at her first attempt, while her second attempt only recover 150 points. She got her practice score at her first and only ACT attempt though.

Depends. Can you concentrate under pressure? That’s the problem I’m trying to prevent right now :P
