<p>I was wondering if you guys could chance me on the following schools…

-Riverside - Accepted!
-Cal Poly San Luis Obispo - Accepted!</p>

<p>I’ve already been accepted to three out of my four safetys (UCM, UCR, Cal State SLO and waiting on UCSC).
With my stats, I’m really aiming for UCSB or UCI, I’d be really glad to get into either of the two.
Anything higher would be a blessing.</p>

<p>Well, let’s get to the stats!</p>

<p>Information:
Chinese male.
Lives in-state (California).
Attends public high school in CA.
Applied for financial aid.</p>

<p>Overall Weighted GPA: 3.46
UC GPA: 3.4</p>

<p>Classes (including senior year):
3 honors classes in all.
3 AP classes in all.
1 community college course in the summer.</p>

<p>SAT Reasoning Test:
Critical Reading: 650
Mathematics: 660
Writing: 720 (11 on essay)
Total: 2030</p>

<p>SAT Subject Tests:
Chinese with Listening: 750
Mathematics Level 2: 690
Literature: 650</p>

-Sales Assistant at Mom’s electronics company for 2 years
-Assistant to the President (my Dad’s) company for 2 years</p>

<p>Essays:
-Wrote beautiful, personal, moving essays.
-Also wrote additional essay which explained my grades a little better.</p>

<p>Excellent letters of recommendation from:
-Counseler.
-Frehman year history teacher (now the Dean of History)
-Junior year history teacher.
-Freshman/sophomore year math teacher.</p>

<p>Interviews:
Great, personal interview at USC. (Also attended the Open house there)</p>

<p>Looks good to me. When did you hear from Cal Poly?</p>

<p>UCI and UCSB stand at slight reaches at this point. 3.4 is below the comfort zone, but 2060 is above their expectations. Berkeley, LA, and SD are reaches, although there is always a story each year about how a person with weak stats got in. Maybe this year its you?</p>

<p>Did you apply early admission to Cal Poly SLO? I keep checking the application status and decisions aren't posted yet! Thanks</p>

<p>If you applied early admissions to CPSLO it is binding. You must have since the RD is not out yet. Since you must not have responded to the required acceptance in mid January you no longer have CPSLO as an option. Hopefully they won't share what you did with other schools.</p>

<p>^ucmomhopeful and collegemom16, i made the dumb mistake of misreading my cal poly POMONA email for cal poly SLO....turns out i havent been accepted there yet -_- thanks for pointing that out.</p>

<p>Wow, I have almost the exact same stats. Same GPA, your SAT is a bit higher, but I have more awards/extracurriculars. AND we applied to almost all the same colleges! I'm aiming for UCI as well. Good luck to us?</p>
