So I’ve been studying with the Red book for the June ACT, and for the first 5 tests, my scores have been 28 29 31 31 32. When I took the real ACT in April, I scored a composite of a 29. How accurate do you think the Red Book tests are with the real ACT. I’m really hoping for a 33+, but I’m scared that the Red book tests are a lot easier than the actual thing… Does anyone think that they are pretty accurate?
I think the red book is pretty representative. Also- you can get other released ACTs online - there are many threads about it on here.
Always use real tests IMHO to practice with.
From what I understand, the first three tests are VERY old. The last two are a little more recent, but they don’t include the new double - passage in reading or a science section that requires some previous knowledge. I would definitely try to get copies of tests given this year and last.
Where do we get new tests?
Okay thats good… how did your scores compare? @Nerdyparent The double passage in reading wasn’t on the April test, that’s weird. I wonder if it’ll be on the June test. @desie1
@MrAustere Ask people who took the ACT recently. On many of the exam dates, you can buy the test and answers for about $20. They are floating around. Most of the tutoring centers also have them.
@singbirdsing Oh, I thought the double passage was on the April test. In fact, I thought it’s been on every test since June 2014.
Does anybody have any new tests?
The double passage began in April 2013. It is not new. It is not on every test, but be prepared for it. The ACT website itself has a sample passage.
