Georgetown
NYU
Notre Dame
UChicago
Duke
Washington U
American U
Amherst
UCLA
UCB
UCSD
UCI

Any recommendations for safeties, matches, reaches? I appreciate your help

Thanks for taking your time to read, analyze, and reply to this thread.

Replies would be much appreciated.

raise that SAT score and you have a great shot at all of them.

Simply raise the CR score. The rest are okay for most of the schools on your list.

Oh wait. I didn't see the second testing.

My predictions:

Georgetown: mid to high match
NYU: match
Notre Dame: [they really favor legacy...] but high match
UChicago: high match
Duke: reach
Washington U: [depends how much interest you show] low reach
American U: safety I guess?
Amherst: reach
UCLA: match
UCB: match
UCSD: low match
UCI: safety

Bump.

Thanks.

hehe yeah sorry i didn't see the second testing. with that score, i agree w/aquamarinee's predictions.

btw, does anyone know what that red circle is doing under my username?

Hey, what leadership conference? NSLC? And if yes which one?

Georgetown: MATCH
NYU: MATCH
Notre Dame: SAFETY
UChicago: SAFETY
Duke: REACH/LOW REACH
Washington U: MATCH
American U: SAFETY
Amherst: LOW REACH
UCLA: MATCH
UCB: MATCH
UCSD: SAFETY
UCI: SAFETY

U Chicago isn't a safety nor is Notre Dame. As competitive as admissions was this year for all colleges due to the large number of students applying, things will be even worse next year.

Amherst also is one of the toughest colleges to gain admission to in the country, and definitely is a reach school.

On the plus side, I think that you have a shot at Ivies.Do read the various tips on CC about how to submit the strongest application possible.

You have some nice ECs that indicate strong leadership. I am curious: Why aren't you president of the Habitat club that you started?

You have nothing to lose by studying more for the SAT and trying to break 1500 CR + M.

Northstarmom, could you refer us to some specific forums about

how to submit the strongest application possible

[/quote]

I have been around for quite some time but I am not sure I am aware of the ones you talk about.

And one more thing...to what extent has the number of applicants to Ivies increased..everybody keeps mentioning it and i keep freaking out!!

Bump

thanks

Berkeley requires Math Level 1 or 2 SAT II. With 700+, you'll likely get in; I'm sure you can do it.

Georgetown - Reach (need higher CR score)
NYU - Match
Notre Dame - I don't know
UChicago - I don't know
Duke - I don't know
Washington U - I don't know
American U - Safety
Amherst - Reach (need higher CR score)
UCLA - Match
UCB - Match
UCSD - Safety
UCI - Safety

Debate addict: The leadership conference wasnt NSLC. It was an all-expenses paid one by the Regents of UC

Bump. Berkeley required Math 2C even when my major is Poli Sci?

Bumppppp

Thanks

I see..what do you want to study btw??

i want to study political science.
attend law school
then use law as a stepping stone towards running for office.

bump.

please comment?

thank you so much!

bumpppppppp
